does anyone know, or know of, Willie Stewart? he's a featured athlete for the CAF, has raced Kona, and recently raced xc at sea otter, as I have gathered from a brief google search.

the reason i'm so interested is because of this picture: http://velonews.com/...0Ross%20McMahon.html (linked because i'm afraid of copyright infringement). i'm very impressed by his ability to offroad with one arm.

i have just joined the Biomechanics and Rehab. Engineering Lab at my grad school, starting to work with Upper Extremity prosthetics. as you can imagine, between the cycling and the prosthesis, i'm very interested in communicating with Willie.

can anyone put me in touch with him? if so, please PM me.

thanks, Don Yungher

I'm sure if you emailed CAF, they could coordinate. Willie rocks!

Hey you might be interested in this guy, I forgot his name but he won this big race 7 times. He has one testicle and he rides fast too.

I don't know him but I was passed by "one armed Willie" on the swim in Kona one year. Amazing....to "yes, I swim that slow and he swims that fast"...

that's awesome! a lot of the work i've done has been with LE stuff, although i've never worked directly on LE prosthetics. does he have a special prosthesis for 'cross? or does he run with his cycling leg, or ride with his running leg? is it above or below the knee? how does he unclip?

freaking awesome.

Look for Andy May for the one I have seen race. He's really strong on the bike. I have not seen him change prosthetics but I wasn't really focusing on him during the races.

There's a lot on that web server.

willie works at Loma Linda University Medical Center in their rehab or prosthetics department. You might try him through that avenue.
