My employer has just informed me that I will be having an opportunity to work in Ancient Mesopotamia for the next year. My bosses assure me that this is an offer that I cannot refuse. I have tried to plea my case and explain the adverse affect such a relocation will have on my periodization, but the Army turned a deaf ear. Anyway, any recommendations on how to proceed with my year? I think I might shift focus to just racing a sprint or two before I leave in 8 weeks, and then work on building a killer base for 2008? I suspect I will have access to running and a stationary bike and all the weights I can stand. I doubt there will be much of an opportunity for swimming. Any further thoughts or suggestions? Has anyone on this board been through this? Thanks!
