For you Mass. people, do you think its too cold to start swimming at Walden?

Dude.... YES! The first of May you can get in for 20 minutes but now it's just a wee bit
early. Keep crankin' away in the pool! :)

I'd wait a few more weeks. I tried swimming there in late April once a few years ago and only lasted about 10 minutes at the most, even with a neoprene cap. It took a while to thaw out after I got home.

yeah, it's just not worth the time and effort because you can't stay in there long enough to get a workout in.

Typically, early May is the first time you can get a decent swim in at Walden, and even then it can be a challenge. A neoprene cap (or two swim caps) helps a lot. I think there is a web site somewhere that posts water temps at Walden.
