May 12-14 we are having an openwater swim and bike clinic in Western Sullivan county.

Living on the left coast as I do I won't be at your clinic. But I have a question about the surf. When body surfing I have no problems catching a wave. The problem is when I'm in it and when it finally breaks I get munched. This is especially sucky when the surf is big. Is there a technique for avoiding this?

Grumpy,

Although bodysurfing might be loads of fun, it is potentially very dangerous!. There have been many spinal injuries directly as a result of body surfing. Do it at your own risk. I have seen first hand the horrors of it.
