I feel like I'm in a minority about it, but I did Mulletman once and haven't been back since because I hated the bike course- at least every 50 yards on the way back in, I had to dodge around snowbirds and spring breakers who believed it was their God-given right to walk in the bike lane instead of the very nice grassy lawn directly south of the bike lane.

I agree with you on the bike course. That's why I didn't do the Mulletman last year. Instead, I went out to ride on my own and ended up with a broken neck!

I did the first two Mulletman races in 97 and 98. Very disappointing races with respect to how they marked the course... Long stories, bud bad organization by the race management.

But the Flora-Bama is a great place to hang out and have a good time. It is one of the things that I miss from having lived in that area. I have not seen it since 1999. I am curious to see how it has suriveved the recent hurricanes.

The Flora-Bama had to be torn down after Ivan. They are rebuilding and are still having all their events such as the Mullet Toss.

Actually down here in these parts MulletMan is a very well respected race. I prefer to do either big-time IMNA races or the little "mom & pop" races like the SkinnyMan tri, the RedMan, and the PhamMan..
