i just got this email saying I qualified for the 2006 nationals??? They said my ranking qualified me. Is that a new way of qualifying people? how many do they take? Interesting...

They take lots, I honestly don't think there really is a qualifying standard but I could be wrong. I think it's a good idea at this point to fill up an usually small race. When they get it bigger and more marketable maybe then they can crank down the qualifying standards. I just got the email today, don't remember where I was ranked, top 50 maybe in age group...

ah ok.. I just find it interesting that a "national" race would be qualified like that. Most others sports have much tougher qualifying requirements.
