How much for a 2004 Fuji Roubaix?
This isn't a classified ad. I'm not selling this bike, but I'm actually looking to buy this bike. This guy that I work with bought this bike, road it about 4 times, and it is now gathering dust in his garage. I want to buy this bike as my beater bike so I can ride it in the rain and travel with it and not really worry about if it gets a ding or two. The bike has maybe 200 miles on it so it's pretty new. What should I offer him for this bike?

Thanks.

$450. That's roughly 1/2 of what it would cost new at bikesdirect.com when they had them a few years ago.

Is the the Aluminum one with 105 9-speed? If so, my wife bought a 2005 last summer new for 1400, if I recall correctly. Used? Maybe 800-900?

If you are talking about one of the carbon models then i have no idea.

I'm thinking about offering him $600 for it. He paid $1200 for it 2 years ago. Maybe I can go $500 and see if he'll take it. He put the bike together himself so I would take it to a shop and to a complete rebuild on it just to make sure. It's a 56cm so the size frame should be fine. Ofcourse, I need to ride it a couple of times first to make sure it fits.

Thanks.

It is the aluminum with 105. I think it might have an Ultegra rear derailleur, but that's about it. I'll take a look at the bike this weekend, though.
