Steelhead has an aquabike division - race is on Saturday, Aug. 5th - go to www.steelheadtriathlon.com for race information - last year we had about 80 in the aquabike divisions. Z

Musselman is also going to have an Aquqbike division, new this year. I just haven't had a chance to add it to the registration process - that's on this week's to-do list.

Info on the Musselman (half-iron and sprint distances) in the Finger Lakes of NY is here:

hope this helps,
Jeff

Not to be left out, I'll chime in as well...Timberman, Mooseman, and Colonial also have the Aquabike, with 1.2 mile swim and 56 mile bike...

You mean one of these?

You can rent them in Panama City (the aqua-bike that is--you have to get the girls on your own.)

I raced the Full Vineman Aquabike last year to prepare for the California Man iron-distance race. It was OK, but I was a bit disappointed when I finished the bike, because I kind of wished that I had signed up for the full thing. Also, there is no grand finish or anything for the Aquabike. You just ride your bike into T2 and then you are done. There is no finish line to cross, no finisher's medal, no announcer calling out "Joe Shmoe, you are an Aquabike!!" But you just gain a bit more confidence if you are preparing for your first Ironman, which I was.
