I know exactly what you're going through. I just starting working with a swim coach for the first time a few weeks ago and I've swam more catch-up and one-arm drills over that period of time than I have over the last ten years. I've been doing very little intensity - about 45min every two weeks while I'm breaking down and rebuilding my stroke. Apparently, it was pretty terrible. I've got LP in my schedule this year two (first IM), but I figure rebuilding my stroke is a long-term gain. I figure there is plenty of time to add intensity in April and on. Besides, the swim accounts for what? About 8% of your total time? Even if you lost some time there (which I very much doubt you will if you are becoming more efficient) it wouldn't kill your over-all performance.

Thanks guys. Yeah, if I can get to 36 seconds/50 I'll be happy, much less faster than that.
