Good running and xc ski water bottle belt?
My wife would like a belt that holds one water bottle that can double both for longer runs and for xc skiing. This one from Nathan looks like a possibility, but I would take any other recommendations before making a decision. Thanks!

You asked about a belt, but another option I would have is the orange mud hydraquiver. I swap out the regular bottle for an insulated one in the winter (to help keep the liquid from freezing a bit longer).

Nate, for XC skiing, I actually like using a cycling jacket with cycling pockets and put one fuelbelt bottle in the pocket on each side. The upside is that the warmth from your body keeps the bottle from not freezing. I have used this for long runs too in the winter and worn a cycling jersey under a tight fitting jacket and put the Fuelbelt bottles in the cycling jersey pockets and then the tight fitting jacket on top. Bottles stay there and don't bounce around. I hate wearing a belt while running or skiing hard (maybe the same way some people don't like regular cycling shorts and the pressure around the waist and prefer bib shorts).

For XC skiing, the reason why the bottles go in the outside pockets of the jacket is there is no bouncing and I have to be able to access the bottles while moving with gloves on and poles in my hands. That would be impossible to do if the fuelbelt bottles are in a pocket under my jacket...the downside is the slight possibility of them freezing if it is colder than minus 15C and I am out for a 2+ hours. with lots of cold high speed downhills.

I've used an older version of the same same belt for years. I prefer if to the belts with smaller bottles. Getting the bottle with gloves and poles is tricky. It's steady enough for running.

That’s a good idea, Dev. Certainly have lots of bike jerseys and smaller bottles around - Fuelbelt and others.
