Folding or Non-Folding treadmill?
Or does it really matter? I've had a Smooth 8.8HRC for 19 years and it finally died. A solid machine, and non folding. On occasion I've run at the YMCA, also on non folding machines. In my search for a replacement, I've come across a number of suitable options, several of which are folding (Proform 9000 and Nordictrack 2950). A third mail order option is a non folding Sole TT8. May also look at a Landice and Precor non-folding locally, though they cost quite a bit more than the previously mentioned options. Just wondering who has experience running on both folding and non-folding, and what kind of differences they noticed, if any? Thanks.

I just ordered a Sole F63 -- there's a good sale on right now (at least in Canada). I had heard good things about it from Slowtwitch and on review sites. It's a folding treadmill. I tried one out, and really liked how smooth and quiet (and solid) it was. Now I'm just waiting for it to get here!!

I have a True PS100 that is approaching its first birthday. I got it at a Black Friday sale - $400 off and 0% financing for two years. Made a somewhat pricey treadmill seem a lot more affordable.

The thing that I really wanted in a treadmill was the ability to get up to speed quickly for intervals. Some of the lower price treadmills simply can't do this rapidly.

I've found that the term "folding" is a bunch of BS for a good treadmill. Those damn things are heavy.

What quick speed 1 touch settings does it have? Mine previous model had them, but only through 8mph, which blows. Nothing like having to hit '+' 20x or more to start an interval. One touch speed settings 9-12mph are high on my "need" list.

The True PS100 only has the quick touch settings up to 8 mph, which is a bit of a bummer. More expensive models have 9 and 10 mph options. I just hold down the '+' button, and it gets up to speed quickly. At the end of an interval I'll hit '8 mph' button to slow it down. It does get up to speed real fast, but I do wish it did have faster quick touch buttons.
