Minnesota craigslist posting... too good to be true? Stolen Bike?

I came across a 2016 Scott Foil in apparently new condition with what looks like Ultegra Di2 for $1500?? What are your thoughts?

Any listing at below market price with one pic and no details (size, specs, equipment, why being sold, how much ridden, etc) is suspect. Googling for other versions of that photo anywhere online, however, turn up nothing so it appears the photo is original.

If it were close to me, I'd set up an appointment to go look at it, and find out what the back story is. There are a myriad of potential legitimate explanations why this bike is being offered at such a low price. There's no way, however, I'd conduct this transaction over the internet, in part or in full. I'd want to see the actual bike, and talk to the seller face to face.

I was thinking the same thing. I live a good distance from St Cloud, so I wouldn't dream of making the trip unless it was legit. I'm wondering if the post can be more of a PSA for anyone potentially missing a spanking new bike from Minnesota or Wisconsin, I know from personal experience that there are several active bike thieves in that area.

There is a twin cities facebook group dedicated to people reporting stolen bikes. I suggest you look there and see if anyone is missing that bike.

This actually is right in my neighborhood (~15 minutes from St Cloud), so I did a bit of looking. Here, apparently, is where the picture came from:

http://www.ebay.com/...rksid=p2047675.l2557

Sold for $2850 on ebay a couple weeks ago.

So most likely the bike doesn't exist (in St Cloud, at least)... some sort of scam.

This seems to be the MPLS stolen bike group:

No sign of the Scott Foil though.

^^^^^This.

It's a Craigslist scammer who just grabbed a pic off of eBay.

Just for fun I responded to the ad, but never received a reply. Too bad, I was hoping to have fun with it.
