Thinking of trying it - couple questions if you can help

1. Do I need to register early or can I wait till week before?
2. Should I fly into Vegas and drive?
3. Are hotels hard/easy to find near course?
4. Is the swim wetsuit legal?
5. Is the bike technical?
6. Hot race I assume?
7. Is the run all on pavement or trails?
8. Is it worth the trip?

Thanks!!!

your answer to question 8 makes we wonder. I am looking for a new adventure with a good hard course. But it seems like you are not sold on it.

I have raced the 70.3 every year in St. George and it is the epitome of a good hard course. The bike has plenty of up and down with the climb up Snow Canyon coming at about mile 42 or so. The run is ridiculously hard but, at the same time, very satisfying to complete. Zions National Park is also really close and is amazing. You'll enjoy it.

Are you someone who likes hard courses? If so, then you will love StG. The views are great, the location is pretty cool and the course is phenomenal (I have done 2 full IMs there and part of the 70.3 - DNF in the cold rain). I rank the course with some of the best I have raced on.

I used to live 45mins outside of St. George. It is one of the most beautiful places in the US. You are literally skirting Zion National Park. If epic views are part of the race experience you are looking for than this one will check your boxes. Post race...like to hike? Pick any of the multiple national parks. Want to play in the bright lights? Short trip to Vegas or Mesquite (low low end version of Vegas). It would be hard to be disappointed with this race even if you traveled from outside the US. Its a bucket list race for me since I now live in the Carolina's and go back to visit family.

Weather can be gnarly but that is the beauty/beast of it.

this sounds great - I will be coming from Canada
I am an ex cyclist so the harder the bike the better
plan is going to be to go to vegas after the race for a few nights of PARTY time.

The pictures of the course look amazing.
