How much have you trained so far in 2005?
It is the start of a new month ( a low volume one at that), and I thought it would be interesting to see the sort of volume people did. I completed my first Ironman this year, and my first two half Iron distances:

From January to November:

Bike

4,204 Miles

240 Hours

Run

1,042 Miles

147 Hours

Swim

333,496 Yards

122 Hours

How bout you?

Shouldn't we wait until the beginning of Jan for this thread?

wow - that kind of discipline in keeping your mileage is impressive.

how do you log in 6 yards (or 96 yards) in swimming though?

The "odd ball" yardage is because of races I did this year. IE: An Ironman is 4,224 yards, same with other races. Was very easy to track the distances each night after working out and the computer did all the totaling.

Mileage is Mileage...I track it all. My goal is to train as little as possible but still finish high in my AG.

I'll reply with the firm numbers to this thread during the first week of Jan, but for the moment, I'm around 150K of swimming, 10,000K of cycling, 2400K of XC skiing and 2400K of running for the past 11 months, plus a whole whack of weights and some speedskating. I should be over 800 hours this year, with the current total around 750. My life between 6 am and 9 am on pretty well every day of the year is training, so the totals add up in a hurry.

I track all my training on "workoutlog.com". Here's a plug for "workoutlog.com". One of the coaches, Jay Crooker, for our tri team (Fleet Feet Sports Carborro, NC) created this service. There's a 15 day free trial. I'm really happy w/ the log and all of its features.

My "A" race is IMAZ next year. It'll be my first IM.

Here's my totals, year-to-date (races are included):

Bike 4233.6 mi 242:13 Run 868.6 mi 129:15 Swim 290659.7 yd 132:12 Total Duration: 503:40

2200 miles run

330,000 yds swum

280mi biked (road) + 20 spinning classes

I estimate 500 hours so far from the above - I've only been keeping a training log since March so I had to make guesses for Jan and Feb in terms of mileage.

maybe she's born with it, maybe it's chlorine
If you're injured and need some sympathy, PM me and I'm very happy to write back.
