Did you notice any general trends with position or equipment? I think I counted three people in that gallery using stacked hands. That's not necessarily a lot but it seems it's becoming more popular position.
Honestly, the thing that I really took away is that at least in the pro/high end amateur ranks of TT'ing the margins are getting smaller. Very few people not on discs, almost everyone on a relatively deep front, and nobody I saw had an absolute abomination of a position. Most everyone had made at least pretty reasonable tire choices. Almost everyone was rocking a true aero lid and long sleeve skinsuit, despite the heat that a lot probably weren't comfortable with.
All of that is more impressive when you think a lot of the folks that were at this race probably don't get all or even most of their TT equipment paid for.
I stood around the jig for a bit, there were more than a couple that had to make last minute adjustments. A friend doing the women's TT failed, although she was on the borderline of passing when we put her on my homemade jig. (fwiw, there wasn't much we could do, she did not have an offset seatpost and we couldn't find one in time so we couldn't get her behind -5cm. We changed saddle and she was probably within a mm of passing, with the right jig/comm she'd have passed, but not yesterday. Just hoped they'd pass it and not make her take the 0/75 exemption.)
