Had the chance to warm up with him in the swim at the LA tri and he chatted while we floated over the huge swells - class act.

Did he have the longest pro tri career ever?

Greg is a beast.

Greg would join the group rides here whenever he and Laura were in town. Dude would put a hurting on everyone and our local rides are fast.

My hat is off to him and Laura... they both had great careers.

The two longest careers racing pro have to be Karen Smyers and the still racing Natasha Badmann. Karen went to her early 50's and not sure how old Natasha is, but has to be close to that.

Cameron Brown is what 44 now, still getting podiums with the big boys, and no gold pocket watch in sight!!!

Oh ya,. congratulations to Greg on his stellar career. He was a true pro in every sense of the word. I would guess he is the all time money maker man or woman ever. Had a couple of the rare monster paydays in our sport, and then just ground it out for 30 years. He has earned a nice rest...

good points - I managed a computrainer studio where Karen instructs classes and she was the nicest person, period.

Care to guesstimate the years pro of each of the athletes you mentioned to see if they were pro for more than the 27 years stated by Bennett? would be neat to see

possibly longer - he already had sponsors for a few years at highschool which could be 29 or 30 years ago
