I have not but will defer to 2018 if an option, I rode pretty hard last night and kept thinking this should be taper week. I am going to go up and ride the course on Saturday, might as well keep the hill training going-Savageman in September.

I haven't either, but I'm deferring to next year, so it doesn't matter to me regardless.

I'll ping Tom and ask him.

Sun forecast is for low 50/high 71, sunny.
Probably be bone dry with the heatwave these next few days prior.
Who'd wanna race in such crappy conditions anyway??

From Tom Ganz's FB Entry on the AmZof FB page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/807024059406583/)
"For those that would like a refund issued please send me an email at: zofignenduathlon@hotmail.com. I apologize for the construction on the bridge that caused the cancellation but know that we are working hard already to make next year the best race possible. And NYSDOT has assured me that the roads will have no projects in our way in 2018. Thank you for all your support."

After skipping 3 races for terrible forecasted conditions (which all seemed to be actual terrible conditions), I noticed the weather forecast for Sunday. Seems to be my luck this spring.....

Ill be rolling mine to next year as well.

Well, yer just a great big Nancy boy is all. Weather's been fine for racing, or whatever.
If'n I'm registered for a race, and I am ambulatory, I show up and race.

Unless you are a Preserve member, or get there VERY early, each person will have to pay the day use fee.
$15 for hikers
$20 for climbers and cyclists.

You have to park in the lot by the Ranger station.
Dogs allowed.

Another option would be Lake Minnewaska , which is $10 per car for parking/entrance fee.
Dogs allowed.

I don't think the lot is ever closed - but technically the Preserve is open until "dusk", and I'm not sure what time officially in the am.
It's pretty much whatever time the Ranger shows up, as far as having to pay.
They do have a "self serve" payment box for when the Ranger isn't there, but it's up to you if you want to do that or not. There's zero enforcement of that.

What a day to miss. Cool and dry. Would have been a fast day. (Relatively speaking).

Yeah, it was pretty much ideal today. Perfect.

Oh, and the bridge hasn't been delivered yet, so traffic was open like normal in both directions. There ended up being literally zero reason to have to cancel the race after all.
Sigh.

I was wondering if I had missed something (came up and rode the course - didn't see the traffic signals that were there back in April). Was coming off a cold, so that's my excuse... beautiful day for a ride still.

Yes, I raced Jerseyman today and it was without a doubt the best racing day of my very long carrier. Shame for AZ, this was the perfect day. Water temp was even perfect for a wetsuit swim at around 71 or 72. Air temp somewhere in the 60's, no wind. Perfect. The race course was very good, not anywhere near AZ standards but it had one challenging climb for each 17 mile loop and the run left me a bloody mess. Coming back into the park, I ran into the sign! We had a great time time. Excellent breakfast at the finish, even Taylor pork roll; only in Jersey!

The 5k, 34 mile, 10k du would have been a good alternative.

hiked the run yesterday with my boys and the dog. beautiful day no question.
I had no real answer for my son when he asked me why they simply didn't make it into a running race.

Ya know, if it was a running race, it would probably be a huge success.

Bicycles are for weaklings, runners rule!
