Hi,
Can anyone recommend a suitable adhesive to re-glue base tape on tubular tires?
Thanks for your help.

if you have to ask, you should probably send the tire to tire alert

Ummmmm thanks?
If you can't help then why reply?
Tire Alert obviously uses an adhesive to glue the base tape.
So it must be commercially available. I just need to know what it is.

Lennard Zinn says "Barge Cement" for refixing base tape to a tubular.

I don't recommend it because there are consequences for not quite getting it right on your first attempt.

Yeah it's bizarre when people do that. Why even bother to post?

Are you just tacking down existing base tape, or replacing tape entirely?

If it's just a repair, Barge cement. If you're doing a full replacement, latex based carpet cement. You can find it at home depot.

Thanks very much for all of your help.

These are tyres that the base tape is starting to lift on. Rather than glue it back down I'd rather replace the entire base tape to avoid the potential of other parts of the base tape coming unglued if I repair it.

Thanks again.
