Hub aerodynamics
With a number of aerowheels being available with different hub options (Knight, Enve etc) ĂŒ wonder how much effect this has on aerodynamics.

I recently had some Knight 65s built up using the wheel builds own branded hub (think they are badged up bitex). And wondered how much the hub effects aero dynamics. The front hub has quite a narrow diameter but seems to have more hub after the spoke flanges. My understaning is cylinders are not very aero so the more exposed sections of hub might not compare so well to other hubs.

John Cobb made a wheel where a little airfoil "floated" in the center of the hub. I can't find a picture or remember what he said the wattage savings was, but I think it was 2-4. I don't think it was practical because it didn't seem to have the necessary bearings, just more of a thought experiment.

Also check out Rob English's site. He has/had a hub with aero axle nuts.
