Status of "Pro Tri Union"?

I searched, but did not see anything updated on the Pro Tri Union. Did it fizzle and die? Is it still around?

They changed their name to more accurately reflect that they can't be a union. They are now the Pro Triathlon Organization.

I still prefer APT (Association of Professional Triathletes) but hey, whatever.

from what I can gather, they've been focused on trying to get the Collins Cup off the ground. Im honestly more curious whether or not they've been able to provide guidance to athletes on the whole FTC social media endorsement crackdown that has been towards the forefront recently.

Why wait on them? The FTC has some very good and detailed guidance on this subject on their website.

You and I know that. I've pointed it out a few times on this board.

Do most pro triathletes? Do most triathlon brands?

Two series of recent items would suggest not.

But that's really one of the areas that PTO could actually provide leadership for its members in.

That's a very valid point.

Funny thing is when I saw your first post I was distracting myself from the previous 45 minutes spent on the FTC and DOJ's website researching some antitrust related issues. Couldn't even get away from the FTC on my mental break.

Don't get me started on triathlons antitrust issue...

All FTC all the time aside...PTO has limited spheres of influence that it could exude. This is an area it really should try to excel in; it helps move the entire industry forward and helps re-establish pros as actual industry stakeholders, rather than as a line-item expense to be cut.

Maybe Triathletes will learn from them.
