Do they need to be road bikes or will skinny tyres on an MTB do ... ? lol

My 1990 Marin (owned from new) :

M735 XT (pre M900 XTR), Mavic 231's, some nice Ti parts etc.

I have a few retro rides / projects, I will post a few pics if people have a genuine interest :

• 1983 Raleigh Burner
• 1992 Fat Chance Yo Eddy
• 2000 Airborne Ti (full XTR)

The only modern bike I have is my TRI bike :-)

WD :-)

It counts in, it has a saddle of a road bike that suits a racer ..

The Flite model replaced my Rolls in 1999 and I stick with it. Fiziks are too soft, SLRs have the wrong shape (for me). After some time every saddle under me looks like the Concor, then it carries me a whole day long & the next, too ..

This thread ran for a number of years and is a treasure trove of weird and wonderful stuff.

Classic steel frame + modern groupset/carbon wheelset = win
