New fit - how long to get used to it?
Hey all -

Got a new fit with my new bike - it is much more aggressive than my previous one.

Anyone have any ideas on how long until it feels normal? Also, I noticed about 5-10% drop in power. Is that normal?

It is still being tweaked/finished but wanted to hear other's experiences.

Pretty normal to experience a power drop especially if the fit is dramatically more aggressive. I'd give it 15-20 hours of saddle time before it starts to feel "normal".

I'm not so sure about that. But it depends what's driving the fit. If Jim fitted you and aero is the driver and he just saved you 2 PROVABLE pounds of drag at 30, okay. Maybe you learn to adapt. If power and comfort were the drivers why would you need a period of adaptation?

A lower position isn't always more aerodynamic.

Go back to the old position, and then drop your bars towards the new one one centimeter per week. Stop when you can't adapt any more.

Jim @ Ero is my fitter and on the retul it felt great. We are still dialing in the fit (I need to head back down to CA) and I am confident it will be better in the long run.

Just more curious how long it takes till I get used to it plus settle in on a new power #.

Careful with your back! That's the only advice I can give.

Also, it should feel like a million bucks.
