There is an Equinox Fitness Club basically across the street from your hotel at 900 N. Michigan Ave. It's downstairs in the basement. I would check out their website and I'm sure you can drop in as a guest.

Equinox or LA Fitness in Streeterville about ten blocks away (south).

Oak Street Beach is where people swim along the lakefront path.

It's cooling down now so you better have a nice wetsuit.

Not a masters group but go the intercontinental hotel on the magnificent mile. Unbelievable pool and you can buy a day pass for around $20. They were nice enough to let me convince them to make it a 24 hour pass so I squeezed in 2 swims with it. Pic of the pool here doesn't do it justice. https://instagram.com/p/6_DgDxt623/

Chicago masters swims at UIC 50m pool on Saturday 6-8 am. I believe it's $10 to drop-in.

or the Radisson Blue - they have a 2 lane 25 meter indoor pool or a 6 lane outdoor pool (probably closed this time of year) - no day passes, but probably about the same price as the OPs hotel if he wants to switch.
