Maybe that's just the new norm. Maybe WTC is content with having those kind of numbers during the summer months when they have an IM race every other weekend.

It's funny how people on the west coast piss and moan about not having races... and then they don't register for the races once they get 'em.

I think it is totally awesome having races with just 1000-1500. Perfect number for it to feel like a large event, but not out of control crowding on the course. Hoping to get back to Whistler in the future!

Boulder and Whistler would be the potential if they were to shut a few down IMO. But with the 70.3 in Whistler same day they could very well make that venue work. As a stand alone 140.6 i don't see it working.

Cour D'Alene renewed 5 years starting in 2016. I could see them collapsing that akin to Whistler with 70.3 & 140.6 together.

But WTF do i know. Pure arm chair speculation.

Yes I think so. But the 140.6 had 1100 finishers.

I'm with you Dev. 1500 max on a course is awesome! Or the course is hard enough to break it up. Which few are.

The days when IMC was 2500 was demoralizing on the bike.

As a resident who wants economic impact to Penticton I want 2500. As a racer I want 1500-:)
