I am looking for feedback on good lodging options (nice, convenient to race start) for the Timberman Half.

You better get in touch with Keith Jordan, the race director. He seems a really nice guy and he's the best man to help you with that.

Keith has all that stuff listed on the website under accomodations. He has also provided distance from the start of each resort. They are having Timber Village at Gunstock if you like to camp.
Try posting on the timberman forum. You'll likely get more targeted responses.
