Cycleops Electric ?

Hi, a long-time lurker with a question.

From the search function I've seen some discrepencies on whether the Cycleops electronic trainer can be set up to do power based intervals. The manual from their website says it will, but doesn't give too many details. Has anyone actually USED this trainer? Does it give you lots of flexibility in setting up your intervals, or do you need to go with pre-programed sets? I haven't found any consumer reviews of it. I'm a mac-user so buying something like an imagic would require the additional investment for the computer. May be a possibility, but if the cycleops can work as a standalone I might go for that.

if you go into the fitness tests part of the display (i think), youll see something called lactate threshold intervals. in here you can specify the wattage, the time of the interval and the rest time. the only downside is that there is a minimum interval time, i think its like 5 mins.

Thanks Boo,
I'm assuming that you could also specify the # of intervals, and the rest duration too. Do you know if you can specify the wattage for the recovery interval as well, or is it just free-riding? If you own this unit I would love to hear a general opinion on it.
