Just got this email from the race director: Please help us promote this as we would like to raise as much money as possible to aid Hurricane Katrina victims.

MULTIRACE.COM TO RAISE $10,000+ IN 10 DAYS FOR HURRICANE VICTIMS

We are all aware of the terrible devastation suffered by those in the Gulf Coast due to Hurricane Katrina. To do our part to help the victims of the storm, Multirace.com, the promoters of the sold out Miami Man Triathlon on November 13, 2005, the largest and longest triathlon ever in South Florida and the only one to ever sell out, have decided to add 100 spots to the race to raise money for the Red Cross. Ironically, a hurricane is the reason the Miami Man is held in November instead of September. It got postponed in its first year because of a hurricane and Miami's weather is so perfect in November, it had to stay.

To get a spot in the sold out race, you must pay your entry fee and contribute $25 or $50 to the relief effort. What makes the deal even better is Multirace.com will MATCH your contribution! Basically you can pay $200 for the entry and $50 will go to the Red Cross OR you can pay $225 (the cost of the Disney 1/2 Iron) and $100 will go to the Red Cross.

To increase the total amount raised, Multirace.com has added matching donations to all of their remaining 2005 events and is offering a matching donation registration for the 2006 Miami Man Triathlon. Normal registration for that event opens November 14, 2005. This special fundraiser will last 10 days and end at midnight on September 11. On September 12 Multirace.com will present a check to the Red Cross to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina and will report on www.multirace.com how much was raised. Please note that the 100 spots in the 1/2 Iron will sell out in just a few days, so if you want one of those spots, get it now! Go to www.multirace.com/hurricanerelief.htm for details and registration links.

Multirace.com is based in Pembroke Pines, Florida and promotes, hosts, and scores over 40 events per year, mostly in South Florida. Thanks, Robert Childers
