I am doing my first IM distance race in two weeks (The Canadian in Ottawa fyi)and am unsure about taper protocol. Due to some injuries and illness along the way I have managed only one 6 hour bike and one 3 hour run. I have done maybe three 5 hour plus rides and several 2 hr plus runs. My long rides and runs have been gradually building from 4 hours for the bike and 1 1/2 hours for the run until I hit that 6/3 combo last weekend. My question is, should I squeeze one more 6 hour bike in this weekend or should I just accept that what's done is done and start to taper?
