People were getting that worried look in their face last month, but I think that I am still 3-5 kg away from a weight where I can run well at Ironman Florida.

A) You will lose weight.

B) You will not have enough glycogen in your muscles to complete your workouts satisfactorily withouth extremely careful planning.

If you are big person then -1000kCal per day is not insane . . . you will lose ~2lbs/week at this rate. That is more than what is typically recommended, but if you have fat to burn then there are worse things you could do to yourself.

what is a good weight for a tri athelte?
I know that an 800m runner at 6' should weigh around 158. but triathletes seem to vary a bit more.
is there any data on ideal weight to height ratios?
