shimano 600 hub - campagnolo compatibility?
i think we might have covered this before, but i couldn't find it when i searched, nor did googling work

a friend wants to sell me his spare wheelset, which has a shimano 600 rear hub (8/9 sp). my new bike is going to have a campy drivetrain. should i use a shimano cassette, or a campy cassette? will this be compatible at all? who DID put the bop in the bop-shebop-shebop?

Yes...how many speeds of Campy will you have. I think that the Shimano 8-9 will also fit the new 10 - and you should be able to run Shimano cogs on a Campy bike with no issues. (I have many times, even did 2 IM that way)

9sp

i appreciate the response, but i just found out (ironic timing is my specialty) that he sold the wheelset to someone else, so now this is a purely hypothetical thread. this means, of course, that i'm gonna have to race on my stock clinchers and DESTROY this other racer.

thanks anyway, though
