Apparently, I'm a cleat killer

Guess there's a reasons my wife calls me a bull in a china shop.

I'm going through 2-3 sets of Look cleats in a season. Is this normal?

I do the same thing. I go through look cleats like there is no tommorrow. I switched to Time Pedals and they have metal (AL) cleats. Same pair for 3 years now. Just a thought.

Do you walk around in them? If so, no wonder.

If not, well, the cleats are plastic. Whaddaya expect? When I had Looks I would go through about 2 pair every season if memory serves.

I've got Speedplays and I use the cleat covers as soon as I step off the bike. Assuming I'm putting the cleat on concrete only when I'm getting on/off the bike and at stops, how long could I expect these to last? Anyone else use cleat covers religiously with their Speedplays?

No, but Speedplay cleats are nuke-proof compared to Look cleats. I go through a pair every other year with no covers.

Raise your seat and use your brakes rather then the Fred Flintstone stop!

I just broke both of my speedplay zero cleats on Wed night - don't know how I didn't wreck. skidding on the top tube to a stop. I think it is from running in T2 with them on, but I would check mine out carefully. They are about 2 years old
