After 25 miles on bike my lower back flares up. Should i see a chiro ,I rather not, new mattress. Any suggestions thanks

Just a guess. Is your bike position too stretched out or are you just too low for you level of fitness and flexibility?

By too low, I mean handlebars too low. Old guys like me have back problems when we get too low. If I were in better shape, I could get my aerobar pads as low as Dan recommends. If I try, I get low back pain.
I had lower back pain until I started lifting weights. It sounded crazy to me but ever since I started doing squats and back extensions, the pain disappeared. If I take a break from lifting for 4 or 5 weeks the pain comes back. I also do a lot of core work; crunches, obliques, etc.
