renn disk w/clinchers or tubular
There's a Renn disk at the LBS that I might want. Its a tubular wheel. The guy at the shop says that he, personally, would race tubulars, but he's recommending clinchers for me due to the lower "hassle" factor (I'm a relative newbie). I know that ordering another wheel (clincher) would take up to 8 wks, from what I've read.

Opinions re: tubular v clinch on disk? Thx!

P.S. any reason not to stick with my Shimano Dura-ace wheel on front if I race with the disk?

P.S.S. how much time do you spend training on the disk?

I vote for getting the tubular Renn disc now. I am no expert changing tubular tires but it does not seem to be a big deal. There are advantages of the tubular disc; mainly less rotational weight (others outlined in past threads). If you are just using it for racing only (and maybe an occasional pre-race ride) your risk of flatting is small.
