We are leaving on a last minute vacation from Arizona to Virginia next weekend. There's a Sprint race on Sunday near Richmond, VA. I figure why not take a bike and have some fun.
1. Which bike - Zipp 2001 or my road bike, Trek 5200? I really don't wish to ship or fly my Zipp frame across the country for a sprint race. The damage and loss factor may be a bit too high for a sprint race.
2. Which wheels- a regular set of Mavics or a set of HED3's? Can I carry a set of wheels (HED3's) on a plane?
This would be a last minute race, just for fun. I don't think I really want to risk taking my baby (Zipp 2001) all the way to VA for a 1 hour race. The risk factor of damage by airlines or loss by those same guys is a tad too high.
