I'm doing a half marathon in a couple of weeks that apparently has 3000ft of climbing. It's supposed to be one of the toughest races in Britain, but how much should I expect the elevation gain to add to my time relative to a flat 1/2 marathon?

There's a half mary here in Colorado that has ~3000ft to the turnaround, then back down again. Starts and finishes at 10000ft. Winning OA time is usually just under 2:30.

from flat marathon to hilly trail run I add about 1:40-2min/mile.
That seems slow. The Pikes Peak Ascent (6000' feet of net gain at very high altitudes) produces some times under 2:30. I suppose it depends on how rugged the surface is.
