Desoto Shorts Help
So I just got a pair of Forza tri shorts and 400 mile bike shorts. Nice stuff!

I seem to be between a medium and a large though. So, my question is, do these tend to shrink after washing, or get larger as the lycra loses stretch over time?

Yes, I do plan to call DeSoto in another hour when they open, but I wanted to get some real-world feedback if possible.

Thanks for any advice and/or snide comments. :)

I'm in the same scenario on the 400 mile shorts. I'm keeping the mediums and crossing my fingers they won't shrink. My package gets a bit smashed but I don't notice while riding. Let me know what Desoto says.

Always get the smaller size. If they are too big they will bunch in bad areas and leave you with chaffing.

If you wash and dry them as instructed the size won't change.

I have a pair of Forza shorts, and find they are very big compared to other garments. Mine fit much looser than my many previous DeSoto goods.

My 400 milers fit perfectly last year, but they might be a touch looser this year. Not much stretch, just a little.

I've noticed the same thing on the Forza stuff. Runs a touch bigger than most of the other gear.

Get the smaller. I'm also in the middle between med and large. I bought the large and they are too big.

When between two sizes go smaller. As posted earlier, too big leads to chafing/saddle sores. And the power lycra fabric will not shrink. Enjoy!

Thanks everyone.

FWIW, I got the official response from DeSoto customer service. They said that the new fabric should not shrink at all when washed properly. And, the lycra will loosen up slightly with use.

None of our fabrics shrink. I always recommend going a bit too snug than a bit too loose. Remember that what typically caused chafing is when a garment moves too much against your skin. So a tighter garment will move less, and thus, rub less.

Also, over time, all garments with spandex or lycra, will loose their elasticity, so go snug and it will last you longer.

Yes, we size things true to size. I am 5 10 165 and I should not have to wear a large in anything. I wear medium in all De Soto garments.
