I'd like to ride this trail with my wife next weekend, and I was curious to know the state of the trail near the fire area. Can any of the Sacramento 'twitchers provide an update?

I know they put a detour in place, but I seem to recall a report saying this detour was kind of on sketchy roads. True?

Lastly, if the detour is in place, and it is indeed sketchy, where on the lower part of the trail would be a good place to park?
