Well, the wetsuit should have been in the rental car. What was I thinking leaving it in the hotel...

Anyway, it was fun to try and get a swim in the Bay... as short as the swim was. And yes, a 41 year old businessman was seen removing his business clothing, wrapping himself in a pink towel and emerging with only a swimsuit on...as for "before and after" sizing pre and post 50 m SF frozen swim, let's just say that the swim was short enough that I imagine there was no impact :-).

I just figured that having done 16 hours of training or racing in the past 4 days and with a redeye flight to follow back to Ottawa Canada, I did not want to risk getting sick....I actually have to turn around and hop a plane to China on Monday to visit customers and I can't afford to get sick...or at least that is my excuse :-)

Dev, you're a wuss. I used to swim in Aquatic Park all the time without a wetsuit.


Mind you, I was sporting "nature's wetsuit"...

I think with all the training in the past few days and with no access to snacks (vs a fridge full of calories at home) I am down to race weight 5 days too late :-(. What this usually means is that I am down in the 5-6% body fat range....which means that the amount of natural wetsuit that I have available has been reduced....I know...excuses :-( Seriously, that aquatic park is a sweet place to swim, although I did mention to IronCLM that swimming too often in salt water with wetsuit is going to really mess up a person's body position when they get back to swimming no wetsuit in fresh water!

He is damned skinny! I could easily bench press him.

In his defense it was pretty darn cold. I had a wetsuit and it was still chilly. Its all good, I still got to swim and Snackie got all Dev's airline pretzels.
