So, if one steps on a sharp object, could this puncture and thus disable the Newtn shoe?????

doc,
I can't answer that until my Newtons get delivered later this month .... but I personally would be more concerned with what happens to my foot inside the Newton or whatever shoe when I step on sharp objects. Just don't do it!

I prefer the whole wheat/fig. They're delicious!

I suspect the Newtons are rather hard to digest and definitely a bit chewy ... I wasn't aware they came in flavors?? ;)

They used to have Cranberry flavor. Those were awesome, but I think they're gone now.

I have found that I really hate eating energy gels when racing, they don't really make my stomach too happy. I have since replaced them with fig newtons. Perfect energy food, they are soft and chewy and easy to pop down, I usually stop at a gas station when going to a race and pick up a couple.

I guess this thread got hijacked. No, I mean, would a piece of glass, not long enough to penetrate the insole, but long enought to penetrate the 'chambers' result in a flat, of sorts?

If you live near a trader Joe's try the Blueberry bars. (They're called 'This blueberry walked into a bar.') The apple and Strawberry are pretty good, too. All great for long rides.

(Edit: If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.)
