I would like to take this opportunity to invite all triathletes to The Sylvan Lake Triathlon (1/2 Ironman distance).
This is the fourth year of our event and we welcome everyone to what we believe, is one of the most beautiful courses in Western Canada.
The swim takes place in the pristine waters of Sylvan Lake. It is a single loop, open water start from the Sylvan Lake Pier and back, transition is within a grassy, shaded area within the Park.
From transition, riders leave town and ride through quiet local roads to completely circle the lake (and then some)and return to town along Lakeshore Blvd.
The out and back run course passes through the nearby community of Jarvis Bay and then enters the trail network adjacent to the lake. Returning along the same route participants finish on the shale beach path in front of the lake where they receive their finishers towel just in time for a quick snack and a dip in the Lake.
Along with the ample number of aid stations and support of the local community and volunteers the Sylvan Lake ½ Ironman might just become your new favourite race.
