What are you riding?

I just got my new bike and wanted to share with the world! Check it out...
It's a Roark Full Aero Custom Titanium. I could go on about the components, but just enjoy the photos.

That is a really nice bike.

Here's what I'm riding on the trainer all winter. Hope the weather will be nice enough to maybe get the first ride of the season on the road this weekend. Just re-weighed it for curiosity, this time remembering to take the water bottle off. Came in at 16.9 lbs which isn't bad for a part steel frame.me.

Nice bike, but I'd say ditch the aero seatpost. There can't beany real benefit from the aero post and it is a lot glossier carbon than the frame and fork. It ruins the bikes nice traditional lines.

Beautiful bike! Very impressive. How was the buying experience? Did you get to check out the factory?

Yeah, the aero post was a leftover from my aluminium Giant TCR-1.

It just so happens by coincidence that it matches my saddle height perfectly to the exact mm when jammed to the bottom. I realize it looks a bit geeky, but I never have to worry about slippage, so I never got around to replacing it.

The experience was great. I live near Roark so I took a couple of tours and actually got to go out and look at my frame while it was being built.

It needed the spacers so that my stand over height would work. I also may become slightly more flexible with time and drop the bars a little bit. Probably not the entire distance of the current spacer, but a little. It's nice to have that option.

Totally agree I was just being a smartass.

I may have to put them on my list for a new ride in 2008.

so far it is:

Calfee (current ride)
Parlee
and now Roark

You should call them up and just shoot the breeze. They are very accessible and easy to talk with. It's a "no pressure" kind of sell when talking with them. Ask for Kevin or Jim.

I would be way too tempted. I have a trip to Chile next year to run the Atacama Crossing. Mrs ATX would kill me if I spent the trip money on new ride. Plus if I buy one the next sentance out of Mrs ATX's mouth is....when do I get one.

Maybe they would give you a bulk discount! hehe...
At least your wife is into it. Mine asked... "Is that thing going to be sitting inside the house forever? Or are you going to hang it in the garage with all of your other expensive toys?" My reply was of course "I'd like to move a couch out of here or hang it above the fireplace and install new lighting to display it properly."

I forgot I had this... This is a photo I took (a bad photo at that!) at my last visit to the Roark factory. It's a custom track bike that actually won "Best Titanium Bicycle" at the North American Hand Made Bike Show earlier in the month. They have some additional pictures on their site of it and a bunch of info about the show. It's a pretty amazing bike.

or you could just take over one of the rooms. A garage is no place to keep one's toys.

LOL! - We do have an elliptical trainer in our dining room. Maybe I could just move the dinner table out and setup some bikes. So what if the 2 year old boy has to eat breakfast on the couch. Right!?

better to keep the dining room as is. let him sleep on the couch and just take his room.

Roark makes some impressive bikes and the component spec on yours (esp bars and stem) is nice.
