hammergel shelf life
I have about half a bottle of hammer gel left over from last summer.
Ever since opening, it has sat in the fridge. The bottle says best
used by march 8th. How strict is the expiration date on this stuff?
It looks like it might have settled a little, but it's the apple
cinnimon, so it has parts that like to settle. So can I just mix it
back up and use it or is it destined for the trash?

sometimes you just have to eat the cake

Most gels really do not expire. It may not taste quite as fresh as when you bought it but unlessit has fuzz growing on it I 'd use it.

yeah, unless there is fuzzz... it really does grow stuff after a while so they have a really nice visual indicator built right in:) I have gel around that old, once it starts getting super thick (generally only the packets do this) I toss it.

You should definitely be fine especially since it was in the fridge. Last summer I had some chocolate hammergel that was in a flask for a couple months and I think I had diluted it maybe 50/50 with water. I took that on the bike with me and first taste almost made me throw up and reuined my taste for chocolate hammergel for a while. I think this was mostly bad because of the mixutre with water sitting around for a while and would not have been so funky if it was just hammergel; but believe me if it goes bad you will know it on your first taste.
