Cycling and achilles
I have been battling achilles tendonitis for a little over a year. Originally I thought it was caused/aggravated mostly by running. Night splint, stretching, massage, and orthotics seemed to have solved the problem. Started running again and ramped up to 10 to 12 mile runs with no problem. I am feeling pumped. Then I ride 70 miles last Saturday and my achilles hurts again. After looking back on the situation it is clear to me that cycling is really aggravating my achilles.

I have heard conflicting advice on this so I thought I would see what the forum had to say. Generally should I be looking to lower or raise my saddle to lessen the stress on my achilles? Or are there other bike fit adjustments I should consider?

"general" rule of thumb with what you are describing is to:

1) lower saddle a little
2) move cleats further back
