Miami: Recently in a surprise announcement the management of Dolphin Stadium, explained the plan to retrofit the Stadium seating by removing all the old seats to take advantage of the comfort and functionality of bicycle saddles mounted on a pedastal like a seat post. It was said that the reduced after game cleaning expense was a benefit not to be discounted.
Although using bicycle seats for sports stadiums and theaters is a fairly new concept, it was explained that for improved fan relations it was necessary to improve seating comfort for long games. Also it was noted that the ticket price for a stadium event was not trivial and the fans demanded the best seating accomodations.
Fans leaving to get to their cars before the game ends will be a thing of the past since the new seats will be so comfortable. This extra time in the stadium will ensure more sales of food and souveniers, easily paying for the expensive retrofit.
Various bicyle seat companies are vying for the contracts to make the improvements.
Industry specialists are saying the program will be a bonanza for the bicycle saddle industry.
Because of their slim design, ruggedness, and especially comfort, racing saddles are the first choice for the stadium engineers.
Although unproven as yet, there is much speculation the the ‘wave’ will be executed with a great deal more force and precision with the new easily mounted and dismounted seats.
For ‘in the know’ fans Assos saddle cream and Glide will be sold at the concession stands.
