One will most likely fit you better than the other.

There are many better qualified to answer the question than I.
A little bit of info I can offer is that all my Tri/Du T12/T14 sponsored athletes get FIST'd on my dime. The average STA is around 78 degrees. We also have had one at 76 & a few beyond 80. My final STA is 77.5

Interesting. I wonder if the range has more to do with cycling convention on TT frames then actual individualized fit. There's only so much messing around you can do with seat angles (even with something like a Cervelo seatpost that flips).
I wonder what people would end up as if there was no limit to the adjustments for seat angles. Say if you were being tested on a Guru fit cycle or a Titanflex.

As the second poster accurately mentioned, it is like debating the difference between a size 9 shoe and size 11 shoe.
The merits of each are contingent on what fits you optimally.

I don't pretend to be a bike fitter, but I do make it a point to be at the sponsored athlete's bike fit. I find the fit process fasinating. "My" fitter uses what he learned through the FIST program, persoanl experience, rider feedback & a Computrainer spin scan feedback to come up with a fit.
The T14 has quite a range with the HALO seat post. It was relatively east to go 2 or 3 degree steeper, but most of the bike fits seemed to settle the same way (i.e 78 degrees). FYI - The STA's were measured only after the bike fit.
