TENS Unit on Femoral Head
I have recurring bilateral issues with my hip joints when I ramp up my running. Doing Disney in January. The pain seems to sit at the juncture of the femoral head into the hip socket, maybe greater trochanter hip bursitis. (had it before.) Would a TENS unit with the patch sitting right on that area loosen things up so the bursa could become less inflamed? Don't want to waste the money on a cheapo TENS if it wouldn't help. Already doing ITB stretches, hydrotherapy, ice, heat, nsaids.

Second related question ... for disk issues at L4 and L5, do you put the tens pads on the erector spinae (correct term?) muscles running alongside the spinal cord on either side? Is there a potential problem with the electrical stimulation being so close to the spinal cord?
