Last race of season I had a bad bike. It's usually strong (relative). Felt like brakes were on. I took it to shop after the race. The bottom bracket was really bad would not spin. It was a Dura-ace about 4 years old. How much could this affect a race performance?

A SHIT TON - more than you think it could. It was robbing your power the entire time (DA are known for that, and MANY folks ride Ultegra BB for the issue). Pre- integrated Dura Ace the DA BB was straight up shit and would fry with any water/sand at all. The Ultegra had better seals and lasted MUCH longer. I cant speak to the new stuff though as I have not seen it all that much yet.

Thanks. I was looking down to see if my brakes were on , cheching for flats, out of breath etc. It was a very long climb.
