those familiar with the turn to Hawi - you take a right and pass a concenience store...continue past that store to go up to Hawi - or am I wrong and you don't actually go past the strore - which would mean don't take a right turn and go past the store. (make sense?)

Are you talking about the turn right near the Kawaihae harbor??
Queen K, left at the T down to kawaihae harbor, mellow right turn up the hill to head up to Hawi (passing convenience store on your left). In Hawi, you just barely enter the town before making the u-turn

yes. so am I correct? you make that right turn, and real quick pass the convenience store, and then proceed up to Hawi. Am I remembering it correctly?
