There have been alot of discussions on this forum as to which power meter is best. Clearly if you race with a disc the Power Tap is not an option, however there are other advantages of the PT over SRM/Ergomo (can move between bikes, maybe less expensive). Therefore the "million dollar question" for me is whether I am defeating the purpose of the power meter if I don't race with it and if so, I guess I should go with the SRM/Ergomo. Any thoughts?

This has been kicked around before. Like others, I found that once I became used to riding with power I couldn't imagine racing without it. Some disk users said they sold their disks and bought wheel covers for their Powertaps so they could race with power.
Makes sense to me, but I'm cheap and I'd ride a cover even without a Powertap.
I think power meters are very valuable in triathlons, the longer and hillier the more you can benefit by keeping your power from spiking too high.
