06 Seduza, talk me out of it (FIRST TIME POSTER!)
Hi guys,

I've been lurking around gathering all of your cumlative knowledge for some time.

I've been doing triathlon for about 2 years now, and have just recently completed my first two olympic distance races. Goal for '07 includes 1/2 IM.

My bike is a hand me down Giant Perigee from something like 1987. I've put thousands of miles on it including a few centuries, in fact, i'll be doing a metric on saturday. You can imagine how much I've been chomping at the bit for something new. I pretty much narrowed down my decisions to a 06 Felt S22 and the 06 QR Seduza. I wanted to wait until the beginning of '07 to purchase though for financial reasons.

Once I learned that the MSRP of the S22 for 07 dropped 700 to $1999, I was even more inclined to wait it out.

However, there are some shops that are blowing out the 06 seduzas. If I buy one *Right now* I can have it for about $2000 said and done, compared to MSRP of $3k+tax.

Additionally, I would be putting a set of red HED Stinger 50's on it, that match the color scheme (as opposed to the felt).

Talk me out of it!!

**edit Any advice on sizing. I'm 6'2" 170 and about a 33" inseam. I would ride a 56-58-(some say 60) road bike.

Do it, Do it.

QR's are sweet bikes. Plus, the new bike factor will make you ride even more.

Now that I know some of you guys look through the special needs bags for kicks, I'm gonna put some really weird stuff in mine. I can see it now. I'll do my best to try to convince you not to buy the Seduza. I think you should put the Hed Stinger's on the Giant Pedigree and post a picture of it on the Bike Porn thread. The responses you'll get will definitely sway you to keep the bike.

PS. The Seduza sounds like a killer deal. Not that it matters much since you WILL NOT be buying that bike.

That is Caliente!!

It's not for sale is it? :P

I guess the only thing i'm worried about is if there's something really worth waiting for in their 07 line, as I haven't been able to find anything about them yet. Still, it's likely that I wont be able to touch the seduza equivalent bike for near the $2k mark.

The '07 models are not updating the Caliente/Suduza pair, at least not according to the QR site. The Kilo/Tequilo has a lot of changes and the Lucero has changes but the 2 mid price CF bikes were left alone.

Hed Alps would match the S22 pretty nicely.

Agreed,

However, I already have the Hed Stingers. I won them in a post race raffle.

The good thing is that organizor of the raffle that I won the wheels in is the same people I would be buying the bike from.

Thanks for the link James,

If 07 is just paint scheme differences for the Seduza, noone is presenting much of an arguement so far!!

The bike is one that allows for me to achieve a comfortable, "all day" position unlike many other bikes I have had (including a Felt S3 btw). I have also owned Trek and two Cervelos.

Cervelo works great for my wife but not for me as it relates to longer races.

buy the ROO, $2K for that frame and a decent parts spec, if it fits you buy it. I think the S22 is an amazing bike as well, but I'd do the Seduza at that price.

I bought the bike. I should have it tuesday.

If you were curious I ordered it from www.trisports.com, everything (including all sale items) they have is 10% off due to their moving sale.
